What is a filling?
A dental filling is used to fill a cavity which is a hole that is formed in your tooth or other damage such as a chipped tooth. Cavities get bigger over time, so the quicker they are diagnosed and treated, the less likely you are to have further problems later.
How do you know you need a filling?
You may get nagging tooth ache, sudden pain when you bite down or sensitivity to hot and cold, you may have even noticed a cavity or food getting caught in the damaged tooth.
What to expect?
The decayed weakened part of the tooth will be removed, then the remainder of the tooth will be shaped, cleaned and dried so it can take the new filling material. Finally, the cavity will be filled with a composite or porcelain material and the dentist will check that your bite feels right when you put your teeth together.
At Clent Dental Care we DO NOT USE amalgam fillings
Dr Turner uses only White filling material makes the teeth look white and natural again. Dr Turner does not use Silver amalgam filling material as it contains mercury (a heavy metal systemic poison) and as it ages it releases mercury into your body and makes your teeth look black or grey.
